National Geographic + Macao Government Tourism Office

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and National Geographic wanted to share Macao’s UNESCO credentials with food lovers and travel-hungry people around. Macao’s unique culinary history and efforts to bake sustainable food production and food waste reduction into the city’s internationally-acclaimed dining scene earned Macao an accolade as a UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy.

We co-developed the ‘Great Green Food Journey’ – a storytelling framework that allowed MGTO and National Geographic to examine and showcase Macao’s food story’s different aspects. We spoke with Michelin-starred chefs, hotels, local cafe owners, rooftop gardeners and food waste advocates to bring to life the Great Green Food Journey in an award-winning interactive experience.

Macao: The Great Green Food Journey won a coveted Gold PATA at the 2020 Pacific Asia Travel Association Awards for the best digital marketing campaign.
